Urban's Board of Directors has selected two new Non-Independent, i.e., Internal Board Members. We are pleased to share that our dedicated colleagues, Chuck King, PE, and Al Scala, have been confirmed for these important roles.

Chuck King serves as Vice President and Urban’s General Manager of Rail and Transit. Since joining Urban in 2011, he has also served as New York City Office Manager. Mr. King brings extensive and broad engineering consulting experience, with a focus on design, construction, and program management for major clients such as SEPTA, NJ Transit, the New York State Thruway Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Before joining Urban, Mr. King held senior leadership positions at several prominent firms, including Vice President at the Louis Berger Group, Regional Manager at Jacobs Engineering, and Director of Project Development at Weidlinger Associates. His expertise in strategic planning, cost and schedule management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery has been instrumental to Urban’s continued growth and success.

Al Scala is currently Vice President and Urban’s Senior Project Manager within the Project Management Oversight Department. He previously served as Urban’s West Region Leader and has brought significant public and private sector experience to the firm since joining in 2014.

Mr. Scala's distinguished career includes serving as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) and Chief Systems Officer at BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). He also held leadership roles in consulting, including as a Principal at Stantec Consulting. Mr. Scala's expertise in planning, design, and program management, along with his commitment to client development and staff mentorship, has made him an invaluable contributor to Urban’s success.
