LAX Modernization Program

Los Angeles World Airports is modernizing Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) through a $14 billion Capital Improvement Program. Ongoing projects include a new satellite concourse with 12 gates; major renovation of several terminals; runway improvements; and various projects to modernize access to the airport, featuring construction of an Automated People Mover. Pre construction efforts include environmental reviews, procurement, funding approvals, ROW acquisition, and final design and engineering.

Urban is serving as the delivery manager for the terminal development and improvement program, as a subconsultant to Berg & Associates, Inc. There are nine project managers within the program and we oversee terminal projects with a construction value of more than $5 billion. Major projects in the program include:

• Southwest Terminal 1.5
• Delta Terminal 2 and 3
• Thomas Bradley International Terminal - Terminal Vertical Core
• American Airlines Terminal 4 and 5
• Alaska Airlines Terminal 6
• Terminal Vertical Cores - Terminals 5.5 and 7

Our services include project/construction management, construction impact analysis, constructability review, cost and schedule control, and stakeholder coordination.
