The ConRAC was a key component of a major redevelopment at Bradley International Airport.
Urban managed the civil engineering elements of a developer-led Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) at Bradley International Airport, valued at $210 million. The ConRAC was a key component of a major renovation at Bradley. The ConRAC consisted of a new five-level return garage, a five-level quick turn-around (QTA) facility and garage, a new public entrance and multi-level operations building, and associated infrastructure. Urban provided project management, planning, and client coordination. The team's focus was coordinating the design and construction with local roadway
design and construction, new utilities and utility relocations, stormwater management, and environmental permitting efforts.
Urban also assisted with estimating and scheduling for the project and worked
with contractors and developers to reduce costs, minimize earthwork, reduce the time for construction, and maximize the use of a highly constrained site. We have completed previous civil and site work for the Bradley ConRAC site, which enables us to offer valuable recommendations to contractors.
Other services included revising schematic designs based on the design-builders program, preparing contract documents, and developing building and site-integrated 3D models for the facility, improvements to existing utilities, and the relocation of the existing parking toll collection plaza.
