William Patton, PE

William Patton serves as a project manager and lead engineer on numerous design and concept development projects, including grade-separated interchanges, corridor improvements, and roundabout designs for the NJDOT, South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO), North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and various counties in New Jersey. William’s design strengths include horizontal, vertical, and cross-sectional geometry, grading, MPT and constructability. He prepares plans and access cutouts, develops ROW and utility accommodations, writes specifications, and provides cost estimating, scheduling, and design exception reports. 

 

William served as Roadway Team Leader on the NJDOT project Route 70 and Route 73, Marlton Circle Elimination. The obsolete traffic circle was located in a high-volume, high accident, commercial area and handled more than 70,000 vehicles per day. The design provided a new grade-separated interchange enabling Route 73 to pass over Route 70, complex ramp connection to State, County and Local roadways, a new connector road, new traffic signals, and sign support structures.

 

Currently, William serves as the Project Manager for the NJDOT project Route 73, Church Road (CR 616) and Fellowship Road (CR 673) Intersections, which will improve operational and safety conditions along the Route 73 corridor. This $100 million plus construction project currently in the design phase, will add a third through-lane to the northbound and southbound sides of Route 73 and will prioritize improvements at the intersection of Church Road / Ramblewood Drive and at the intersection of Fellowship Road. A new grade-separated interchange is proposed enabling Church Road to pass over Route 73 and will provide new ramps which will connect the State Route to the County and Local roads via roundabout intersections. The project widening will interface with the NJ Turnpike Interchange No.4 and is being coordinated with the NJ 1 to 4 Turnpike Widening Program. The project will also provide a full replacement of the bridge at the interchange of Route 73 and I-295, involve utility relocations, ROW acquisitions and Access alterations, environmental permitting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and overhead and cantilever sign support structures,

 

William received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Widener University in 1998 and is a registered professional engineer in the State of NJ.
