Jason Cardinal is responsible for the operation and management of Urban’s Hartford, CT, office and overseeing strategic pursuits in the New England Region. He manages all office personnel and provides technical oversight on major projects and programs. This entails providing leadership to the staff and working directly with directors in all areas of project management, business development, training, mentoring, and other tasks to maintain quality in the office and foster growth. Mr. Cardinal’s achievements include strengthening Urban’s presence in New England while supporting many of Urban’s national regions and markets.

 

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Cardinal has varied knowledge in all phases of constructing highways, bridges, and other transportation facilities. His project experience includes working for both a heavy civil contractor and large and small consultant engineering firms. His major focus of work consists of significant rail and transit projects and programs under Federal Transit Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, MBTA, Amtrak, Metro North, and CTDOT, as well as other state, municipal, and private sector clients. His roles on these projects and programs are valued at up to several billion in size and encompass every aspect of work, including quality inspections, project controls, resident engineering, project management, and program management.

 

Mr. Cardinal is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and Professional Engineer (PE) in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, and he is a former licensed Building Official in Connecticut. He earned his master’s in construction management from Central Connecticut State University and his bachelor’s in civil engineering with a transportation concentration from the University of Connecticut.
