As Vice President and Market Leader for Aviation, Christopher G. Gubeno, PE serves on the executive committee and manages the firm’s aviation business line and Urban’s strategic pursuits nationwide. His role doesn’t stop at managing, though, he is actively involved as a project director and manager and takes a hands-on approach to ensure the best client service.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Chris's background includes extensive planning, design, and construction experience with aviation forecasting and alternatives analysis for airport master plans and master plan updates; airport layout plans; planning integration for environmental impact statements and environmental assessments; the design of runways, taxiways, and aprons; utilities; roadways; terminal buildings and facilities; hangars; parking lots; land development for commercial and industrial properties; recreation paths and multi-use trails; implementation of environmental controls and coordination for environmental permitting; and navigational aid design. Throughout his career, he has worked on impactful projects nationwide at universities, airports, parks, and museums.

When he is not increasing efficiency at your local airport, improving facilities at a university or designing a new bike/pedestrian trail, he loves spending time with his family, his wife, and dogs, whether it be going on vacation, taking a walk within his local park or on a trail he helped design. He actively supports the soldiers that serve our country through various organizations and finds time to reflect on his own past achievements in track and field in high school and college.

A Registered Professional Engineer in 3 states, MD, PA, and VA, Chris received his bachelor’s in systems science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is actively involved in the Airports Consultants Council (ACC) and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
