Though she is not an engineer, Chamia Green plays an important role at Urban. As the firm’s paralegal, Chamia works directly with Urban’s general counsel on a full range of corporate matters supporting commercial contracts, litigation, and compliance. She provides executive summaries on activities of the legal function for the firm. “It’s rewarding to assist decision makers in determining if an opportunity serves Urban’s goals and interests well,” she says.

Chamia had a longtime interest in law enforcement and forensics. While attending Temple University – where she earned a degree in criminal justice – she interned for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. With nine years of experience in criminal and civil law, she now prefers working in-house at Urban. Here, she continues to enhance and increase her technical skills while benefitting from a better work/life balance. When she isn’t enjoying spending time with her son, Chamia enjoys dance and aerial silks classes. She also enjoys DIY projects.

Her many responsibilities for Urban include reviewing policies, requests for proposals, and corporate documents; performing legal research of law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles and media relevant to business; and supporting corporate records retention and maintenance. In addition, Chamia is a member of Urban's Safety and ISO Management committees. Some of her primary duties stem from her participation, and they're in-line with her interest in compliance and risk management. She is also a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Her favorite part of her job? “I enjoy reading scopes and learning more about what the engineers do,” Chamia says. “I like being a team player and coordinating with all of our different departments.”
