Urban is pleased to announce that it received two marketing awards at SMPS Philadelphia’s Ruby Jubilee. The firm earned both First Place in its submitted category as well as the People’s Choice Award - which is selected by gala attendees, who vote among all of the award submissions – for a technical proposal for roundabout services.
“We are thrilled to be given two marketing awards from SMPS Philadelphia, which is high recognition from our peers in the industry,” said Andrew Chakmakjian, an Urban vice president and director of corporate development. “Our proposal team works hard to develop innovative qualification responses that highlight the technical expertise and dedication to client service offered by our firm. These awards are proof of their commitment to excellence.”
Roundabouts have become known nationally as a safer intersection alternative. The Federal Highway Administration endorses them and supports the fact that they lead to improved operational performance while promoting lower speeds. In an effort to capitalize on the movement toward roundabout alternatives and expand the firm’s transportation, planning, design, and multimodal group, Urban pursued an RFP with a new client in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Urban’s marketing staff worked closely with subject matter experts and practice leaders to develop compelling content which satisfied RFQ requirements and presented a clear plan, reinforced with quality graphics and layout. The staff worked with project managers and subconsultants – all remotely – to ensure the completed proposal was of high caliber. The resulting proposal created effective differentiators that expressed Urban's value. The firm was selected for the contract, and Urban retained a new client.
SMPS Philadelphia is an organization dedicated to creating professional development and networking opportunities for marketing professionals in the A/E/C industry. The Ruby Jubilee celebrated the group’s 40th anniversary and included a preview of what is in store for the 2022/2023 program year, as well as the Philly's Phinest Awards and Annual Chapter Awards ceremony.
