Urban is excited to be attending the 102nd Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.! We are looking forward to many of the discussions on smart design and how the infrastructure bill will impact our future. Featured speakers include U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Urban’s attending staff, which includes Senior Planner Daniel Hutton, are excited to help advance research and learn more about the best practices of transportation planning, roundabouts, and design control strategies.

The staff of our firm have long been involved with TRB, and are looking forward to learning and connecting with others at the conference. Mike Mastaglio, a longtime friend of the Roundabout Task Force, was appointed in 2015 as a member of the ADK80 – formerly ANB75 – Roundabouts and Other Design and Control Strategies Standing Committee. Mr. Mastaglio – who has been a presenter at the TRB conference for the past five years – is also a Friend of the AKD10 Standing Committee on Performance Effects of Geometric Design. He will preside over the Roundabouts, Intersections, and Diverging Diamond Interchanges panel on Monday, January 9, at 8:00 am. Mr. Mastaglio serves as an associate vice president for transportation, planning, design & multimodal ventures at Urban.

Bill Petit is on the AJE15 Workforce Development and Organizational Excellence Standing Committee, which is concerned with short-range processes and operational approaches that produce an improved performance of transportation organizations. Mr. Petit is a vice president and office manager of Urban’s Erie, Pennsylvania, office.

Urban looks forward to networking and exchanging ideas at the 2023 TRB conference! Our firm provides services for some of the country’s most challenging infrastructure projects, and our employees work together with clients through collaboration and communication in order to find solutions.
