Urban Engineers, a nationally recognized engineering and construction services firm, is proud to announce the opening of its newest office in Pittsburgh. The new location -- One Gateway Center, 420 Fort Duquesne Boulevard, Suite 1852, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 -- reflects the firm’s continued growth throughout the Commonwealth and reinforces its commitment to providing transportation and infrastructure services throughout Pennsylvania.

Located in downtown Pittsburgh, the office positions Urban in the heart of the city’s business and transportation hub. This strategic location enhances the firm’s ability to deliver high-quality services to clients, including the City of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). In serving the Pittsburgh region, Urban will bring its proven approach—being highly responsive to client needs, offering thoughtful solution options with clear advantages and trade-offs, and developing trust and collaboration between teams.

“Opening an office in Pittsburgh marks an exciting step forward for our firm,” said Urban’s CEO & President Jim Bilella, PE, LEED AP. “Pittsburgh is a city with a rich history of innovation and resilience, and we’re proud to be part of its future. This new space will strengthen our presence in the region, attract top talent, and better serve our clients with the responsiveness and excellence they expect from us.”

Urban is currently playing a vital role in enhancing Pittsburgh's infrastructure through involvement in the city-wide LED Streetlight Upgrade Initiative. Our team is also providing support to Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) on various projects at different stages of design and construction. Urban’s notable projects include:

  • Review of the PennDOT, District 11-0, SR 22 A37 Diverging Diamond Interchange via a Statewide Innovative Intersection Agreement
