Urban Engineers Announces Matthew Rubbo, PE, Joins as Project Engineer

Urban has hired Matthew Rubbo, PE, to the position of Project Engineer in the firm’s Mechanicsburg, PA office. With his extensive background in both design and construction management, Mr. Rubbo will oversee design and construction management projects, develop strategic teaming arrangements, and focus on staff development, project delivery, and intentional growth while serving clients throughout the Commonwealth.

 

With more than eight years of progressive experience in transportation design and construction management, Mr. Rubbo has contributed to major infrastructure initiatives involving multiple bridge replacements, total roadway reconstructions, and aviation projects. In the field, Mr. Rubbo has provided Construction Management/Construction Inspection (CM/CI) services on numerous roadway and aviation projects, with extensive involvement with the Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

 

Among his technical skills, Mr. Rubbo brings specialized expertise in the engineering software required for design development and project collaboration, plus the essential Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) systems widely utilized within the industry. Mr. Rubbo has extensive experience serving PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA), City of Harrisburg, and City of Philadelphia.

Mr. Rubbo earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania.
