Urban is strengthening its executive leadership team by promoting Douglas Buchek and Jeffrey Roken, PE, to Senior Vice Presidents. These promotions reflect the firm’s commitment to recognizing leaders who support operational excellence, demonstrate strategic vision, and contribute to Urban’s growing portfolio of work.

With more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Buchek has extensive expertise in construction management and inspection, claims analysis, and project scheduling. As General Manager of Construction, he leads the firm’s construction services team, oversees the delivery of high-quality, well-executed projects, and is responsible for all strategic decisions, including pursuits, teaming, and budgets

Throughout his career, Mr. Buchek has led and supported Urban’s staff on major infrastructure initiatives for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), where he has consulted on projects in every District. Additional clients he has served include the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA), Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

Mr. Roken is the Business Unit Director for Pennsylvania at Urban. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including successful roles in engineering, project management, and leadership. Mr. Roken has successfully delivered large-scale transportation projects for prominent agencies, including PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Amtrak, SEPTA, and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

In his role, Mr. Roken is responsible for administering the firm’s management and technical staff, maintaining relationships, and participating in the delivery of Urban’s projects within Pennsylvania.
