Urban is pleased to announce that Rick Baus, CCM, CPE, CCE, ENV SP, ACIArb, NCPM, Associate Vice President, Client Manager, and Cost Estimating Team Leader, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter, where he will help advance professional standards, industry collaboration, and best practices in construction management throughout the region.

With more than 20 years of diverse experience in the construction industry, Mr. Baus has successfully led complex projects from initiation through completion across a wide range of delivery methods and contract structures. In his role at Urban, he provides strategic leadership and technical expertise as an estimator, project engineer, quality control inspector, and project manager, supporting both single- and multi-prime contracts and estimating multi-million-dollar projects.

Mr. Baus has a long history of collaboration with CMAA, having contributed to several initiatives throughout the years. Most recently, he served as a subject matter expert (SME) for CMAA’s Cost Management Guidelines industry update, released in June 2025. The guidelines define best practices, standards, and recommended processes for managing costs on construction projects across the full project lifecycle.

Through his leadership at Urban, Mr. Baus has consistently advanced best practices aligned with CMAA’s mission to promote professionalism, innovation, and collaboration in the construction management industry. His experience managing complex stakeholder environments and delivering value-driven solutions positions him to make meaningful contributions to the CMAA Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s strategic initiatives and member engagement efforts.
