Urban is proud to announce that Nick Giglio, PE, has been named Outstanding Young Professional of the Year by the Construction Institute (CI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This award recognizes Nick’s contributions to the civil engineering profession, including his technical skills, strong character, and integrity. It also highlights his leadership in encouraging younger members to engage with and advance the profession.
“I’m truly honored to receive this award, and I’m thankful for the opportunities that Urban has given me that helped me get to this point. I hope to make lasting impacts in the construction industry, and this lets me know I’m on the right path,” shared Giglio, who joined Urban as a Construction Engineer five years ago.
Nick has been a driving force behind some of the most critical construction projects in the Lehigh Valley region. He is currently serving as a Construction Inspector for the I-80 Exit 308 Project in Stroudsburg, PA, for PennDOT, District 5-0. This significant project involves a $100 million interchange realignment that includes reconstructing local roads, multiple bridge replacements, new retaining walls, two new roundabouts, and extensive utility work. Nick’s notable past projects include the Tilghman Street Bridge Reconstruction in Allentown and the full-depth reconstruction of Route 100 near Fogelsville.
Since the beginning of his career, Nick has actively engaged in various professional associations, including ASCE, where he serves as President of the Lehigh Valley Section. He has held multiple roles on both local and national committees, including serving as a researcher for Pennsylvania’s 2022 Infrastructure Report Card.
