Urban Engineers Board Member Michael Pearson Recognized as a 2023 Veterans in Business honoree

The Philadelphia Business Journal has honored Michael Pearson, a distinguished member of Urban Engineers' Board and the Interim President and CEO of the Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), as a 2023 Veterans in Business honoree. This recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have not only served in the U.S. Armed Forces but have also made a significant impact on Greater Philadelphia's thriving business community.

 

Michael Pearson, expressing his gratitude for the acknowledgment, remarked, "Being recognized as a Veterans in Business honoree is a testament to the collective efforts of all veterans who continue to contribute to the prosperity of our community."

 

Michael served eight years in the United States military, including deployments to Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, where he served as a platoon leader during the Persian Gulf War. Michael was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other commendations for his service. After serving in the military, he gained various business experiences, including more than 24 years of social entrepreneurial involvement.

 

A widely respected leader, Michael served as a Philadelphia Regional Port Authority Commissioner and currently serves on the executive boards of the William Penn Foundation and chairs the Philadelphia Health Management Board, in addition to numerous non-profit boards. He possesses a personal ethos of giving back to the community and works to instill those values into those around him.
