Urban is pleased to announce that GVF TMA has named Brian McBride, PE, as a Top Transportation Demand Management (TDM) professional under 40 years old. GVF presents these awards to ambitious leaders that are working to find creative solutions to improve our quality of life through engineering, planning, marketing campaigns, and the development of commuting alternative programs that are shifting behavioral change.
“GVF presents the Top TDM Professionals Under 40 awards to ambitious leaders in our industry that are working to find creative solutions to improve our quality of life through TDM,” said Rob Henry, the executive director of GVF. “Congratulations to Brian. Our long-time partner Urban Engineers has been a consistent and strong support of TDM and GVF and we truly appreciate our partnership, working together to improve our region.”
Mr. McBride serves as a construction manager at Urban. He enjoys a challenge, and his work on complex infrastructure projects demands that. He is tasked with discovering feasible, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to problems while simultaneously cooperating with all the different parties – owners, designers, project engineers, contractors, the public, and other stakeholders – involved in the construction process. Since he entered the engineering industry, the most important lesson Mr. McBride has learned is the value of common sense. He also learned that TDM affects everyone, and it is important to find solutions to congestion challenges by developing commuting alternatives and shifting behaviors.
A local to the greater Philadelphia area, Mr. McBride earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. He’s an active member of the Philadelphia community as a sitting board member of the Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute.
TDM affects everyone and their diverse backgrounds. GVF is a not-for-profit group created to advocate and promote a viable transportation network for the Greater Valley Forge region’s economic vitality. The organization honors TDM professionals under 40 annually as a testament of the ever-evolving role TDM and these individuals play in local communities.
