David A. Steele, PE, LEED AP, oversees the firm’s Structural Engineering Department, including building systems. With more than 37 years of experience, he manages projects from early planning through final design, delivering award-winning work that balances client needs with the architect’s vision.

 

Dave directs diverse teams with strong management skills. His expertise spans new and existing construction, value engineering, historic and adaptive reuse, constructability, code evaluations, and existing condition studies.

 

Dave’s signature projects include Splash Lagoon, recognized as USA Today’s second-ranked indoor waterpark in 2025; Burke Center, Penn State’s largest building outside of State College; American Airlines Ground Service Equipment facility at PHL, recipient of an ACEC National Award; and the Erie Western Port Authority’s Cruise Boats Terminal Building, honored with an AISC Engineering Award of Excellence.

 

He has also served as Project Manager for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission’s new Lewiston Facility, the 220,000-SF Joint Operations Facility for the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority, and as Structural Project Manager for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's (SEPTA) new Ardmore Transit Station and the upcoming Villanova Rail Station rehabilitation and renovation.

 

Dave currently serves as Structural Lead for the new Trenton-Mercer Airport Terminal, the Station Retail Renovation at Amtrak’s historic 30th Street Station, and the U.S. Postal Service’s Repair, Alterations, and Electric Vehicle programs across the Southeast United States.

 

Passionate about creative problem-solving, Dave excels at transforming complex structural constraints into practical and efficient solutions. He approaches each project as a true partner, collaborating closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure designs are not only structurally sound but also aligned with project goals. Whether managing tight schedules, complex site conditions, or unique design challenges, Dave focuses on delivering solutions that maximize value, minimize risk, and drive project success.

 

Dave is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in 15 states and a LEED Accredited Professional. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware. He is a member of the Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serving on multiple national committees, as well as his local Building Code Appeals Board.
