Urban Honored in Video Category at SMPS Philadelphia’s Marketing Communication Awards

Urban is pleased to announce that it received an award in the video category at the recent SMPS Philadelphia Philly’s Phinest Marketing Communication Awards. The firm’s submitted video, “Atop the Comcast Technology Tower” was given an “Honorable Mention,” recognizing its achievement. The local awards program is modeled on the SMPS Headquarters program that recognizes excellence in marketing communications.


“We are grateful to have this innovative video honored by our peers in the industry,” said Andrew Chakmakjian, Urban’s director of corporate development. “Our video production staff braved the fear most of us have of heights, and was transported by crane to get outstanding views of Philadelphia on camera that few had seen before.”

Urban Engineers’ special inspectors provided construction services for the new Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. The project gave Urban’s marketing group a unique opportunity to follow the inspection team during construction of the building and record views from the 60th floor before it was completed and accessible to those outside of the construction crew. Urban’s in-house videographer traveled with the special inspection team and caught the sky-high views using both GoPros and a hand-held camera. Urban’s video production team then created a video that included an animated intro and original, composed music for the firm to share with the Greater Philadelphia population, staff, and clients.


Once complete, Urban’s marketing team promoted the video through the media, email announcements, and social media channels. The goal was to get a minimum of 1,000 views. After promotion, the video was featured in several media outlets, shared widely on social media, and accumulated more than 17,500 views across all platforms. Watch the video below:
