Urban’s Nicholas Giglio Named a 2022 New Face of Civil Engineering by ASCE

 Urban is pleased to announce that the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has named Nicholas Giglio to the organization’s 2022 New Face of Civil Engineering list. Mr. Giglio is a transportation construction inspector based out of the firm’s Allentown office.

 

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition from ASCE,” Mr. Giglio said. “Working directly in the engineering and construction field has allowed me to play an important role in the projects I spent so many years learning about the growing up. This acknowledgment from ASCE confirms my career is on the right path!”

 

Mr. Giglio earned a degree in civil engineering from Penn State Harrisburg. While still attending school, he passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and received his Engineer-In-Training (EIT) license immediately after graduation. Mr. Giglio then jumped right into work as a transportation construction inspector, and was promoted after a year and a half in the field. His experience now includes $25 million projects, and he has served as the owner’s representative for site construction on projects which include a concrete arch bridge rehabilitation and a full-depth highway reconstruction project.

 

Every year ASCE honors 20 outstanding young civil engineers as the New Faces of Civil Engineering – 10 young professionals and 10 college students. The organization represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society.
