Urban’s Richard Simon Wins Distinguished Award from American Society for Quality

Urban is pleased to announce that Richard C. Simon CMQ/OE, CQA, has been awarded the Testimonial Award by the American Society for Quality (ASQ). This award is presented to those in recognition of leadership and distinguished service. Mr. Simon was chosen to receive the honor for his dedicated service to quality assurance in design and construction in 2016.

 

“At this stage of my career, there are not too many things that can surprise me,” said Mr. Simon, a 50-year veteran of the industry, “but this award did just that.”

 

Mr. Simon received the award at ASQ’s 2016 World Conference on Quality and Improvement in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A senior member of the organization, Mr. Simon is a certified manager of quality/organizational excellence, a certified Quality auditor, and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He serves as the vice president of quality systems at Urban, and has been with the firm for more than 16 years. He serves as the lead quality manager for all of the firm’s Federal Transit Administration Project Management Oversight Contractor (PMOC) assignments. Mr. Simon has extensive experience in developing and implementing quality programs and has had widespread practice helping contractors and subcontractors resolve problems. He is a graduate of The Cooper Union.
