Urban was pleased to receive a U.S. flag flown over the Joint Training Center in Jordan from New Jersey National Guardsman Joe Dressel. Mr. Dressel, a construction manager at Urban, spent most of 2019 training and serving abroad at the post in the Middle East. He requested that a flag be flown over the base in Urban’s honor because of the firm’s efforts to recruit and hire veterans.

Mr. Dressel has spent 12 years with the National Guard, and was previously deployed in Iraq in 2011. While serving in Jordan, he assisted in the Guard’s efforts to train the Jordanian army. Mr. Dressel joined Urban in 2017 and worked with the firm’s facilities construction services group on projects like the Pennsylvania Department of General Services Readiness Center and the renovation of the 30th Street Station.

Urban is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and has taken many steps to attract more diverse talent. The firm has increased its presence at veterans’ career fairs and recently purchased sponsorship on a billboard for the Delaware Valley Veterans' Battleship New Jersey Career Fair. The firm also places job recruitment ads in publications like U.S. Veteran’s Magazine.
