As Vice President, Regional Manager and Director of Construction Services, Douglas D. Buchek serves on the executive committee and regularly collaborates with our office managers on strategic pursuits and teaming for projects in our Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware offices Mr. Buchek directs the operation of our construction services team regionally. He also is involved with the firm’s corporate strategic planning efforts.
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Buchek’s background includes construction management and inspection along with claims analysis and scheduling. Throughout his career, he has worked and managed Urban’s staff on major infrastructure projects for PennDOT, DelDOT, MDSHA, NJDOT, the City of Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Airport. Mr. Buchek has worked on Urban projects as far away as Las Vegas. He has also managed many local projects for municipal in his sphere of operation.
When he is not improving the travel for thousands of people via new construction or reconstruction projects, he is most likely at a major Pennsylvania team’s sporting venue watching a game (Phillies, Pirates, Eagles, Steelers); enjoying outdoor activities such as boating and cookouts, going on trips and cruises with his family, traveling to NYC, or hanging out at home with his three dogs.
Mr. Buchek received his bachelor’s in information systems, summa cum laude, from Widener University. He is actively involved in the Construction Management Association of America, Mid Atlantic Chapter, where he is a past board member and treasurer.
