Urban is pleased to announce that Matthew C. Marquardt, PE, has been named chairman of the board of directors of The PENJERDEL Council. Mr. Marquardt serves as a senior vice president and chief operations officer for the aviation, site/land development, facilities design and construction, and rail and transit practices.  He will follow James H. Carll of Archer & Greiner who served as chairman for 10 years.

 

“Through the years, The PENJERDEL Council has been a proud advocate for mass transportation funding, airport expansion, improved transit systems and other economic development initiatives in our tri-state region,” Mr. Marquardt said. “It is an honor to serve as chairman of the board of directors for this important organization and to be able to work with our executive director, Andy Warren.”

For the past 50 years, PENJERDEL has been dedicated to informing, educating, and supporting the business community in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware region by leading issues and projects affecting the environment, infrastructure, mobility, sustainability, and growth.

 

With more than 25 years in the A/E/C  industry, Mr. Marquardt’s expertise encompasses the management, design, and inspection of a variety of transportation and facility engineering assignments for both private and public clients. He is a registered professional engineer in 10 states and has served or is serving as a board member of American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, American Society of Highway Engineers, and Villanova University Engineering Alumni Association. Mr. Marquardt earned a master’s in business administration from Widener University and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Villanova University.
