Urban Engineers (Urban) was recently awarded a contract from the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) for the Design of Port Access Improvements along South Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia, PA. The design improvements will include alternative concepts for traffic flow, truck movements, freight rail, and efficient access to the Pier 98 complex, Packer Avenue Marine Terminal and the proposed Southport facility, now in conceptual design.

Urban’s team includes American Geotechnical and Environmental Services (A.G.E.S), KSK Architects, Lotus Environmental, and Rodriguez Engineering.

“The project area is a very dynamic and busy one, and vehicular flow to and from the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, as well as the proposed Southport facility, will be vital to its ongoing success,” said Urban’s Bob Wright, PE, who is the Project Manager. “Urban is pleased to be able to be part of this important assignment for PRPA.”
