The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) appointed Urban's Carol Martsolf, PE, Training Manager, to its Council on Standards Development.

This two-year term is Mrs. Martsolf’s third consecutive appointment by IACET’s Board of Directors. Her term will expire in 2017.

“What Carol has built from scratch with the Urban Training Institute® is nothing short of remarkable,” said Urban Engineers Executive Vice President and Deputy CEO Kenneth R. Fulmer, PE. “She has cultivated an understanding of the value of training, not only within Urban, but also with our clients who continue to utilize the Urban Training Institute® to attain Professional Development Hours (PDHs).”

“I’m very honored to have been re-appointed to such an important IACET Council,” said Martsolf. “The role of the committee is to lend experience and expertise in providing input regarding the revision and updates to the Standards, and shaping the future of the IACET Standards, as well as creating new Standards.”

The Urban Training Institute® recently awarded its 10,000 PDH – the equivalent of sitting in a classroom for eight hours a day, seven days a week, for three and a half years. The Urban Training Institute® offers courses in a variety of technical and professional development areas, including stormwater management, ethics, construction management, municipal engineering, scheduling, cost estimating, and many other topics.

Urban is accredited as an Authorized Provider by IACET. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In 2010, Urban received the IACET Exemplar Award for Internal Training.
