Fourteen Urban employees were among the 1,000 runners and walkers who participated in the annual United Cerebral Palsy Life Without Limits 5k. It began at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, then along West River Drive for about 1.5 miles, before returning to the museum.

The first Urbanite to cross the finish line was Chris Commans, PE, who finished in the uncommon time of 22 minutes and 15 seconds, good for 62nd place. Close behind was Mike Wagner at 22:27. The overall winner finished in 17:36.

The UCP 5k is one of the many community events in which Urban’s employees participate each year. Other community activities include food drives, “Toys for Tots,” the Future City Competition for seventh and eighth grade students interested in the engineering profession, Earth Day, Delaware Avenue cleanup, and others.
