Urban Engineers (Urban) has presented Aaron Barnes, PE, with its Professional Achievement Award. The award recognizes Aaron’s dedication to his clients, colleagues, and projects, as well as his outstanding achievement in the engineering industry.

Aaron currently serves as the Resident Engineer for the $102 million Lehigh and Pohopoco Bridges Replacement Project in Carbon County, PA. Part of a Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission self-funded initiative to modernize 546 miles of aging highway, the project involves the replacement of two, deteriorating, 55-year-old original structures on the heavily traveled Northeast Extension (I–476) between mileposts 72 and 74. Aaron has been working in close coordination with the project team to make this complex and award-winning construction assignment a complete success.

“Aaron’s willingness to share his talents and expertise with his co-workers coupled with a take-charge attitude and subtle-yet-confident professional approach is embraced by the many clients he has served,” stated Urban’s President and CEO, Edward M. D’Alba, PE. “Aaron is a tremendous asset to our firm, clients, and industry.”

Urban’s Employee Recognition Awards are presented semiannually. Additional Employee Recognition Awards are for Outstanding Performance, Professional Achievement, and Outstanding Suggestion. Award recipients are determined by nominations from colleagues and an internal committee.
