Urban Engineers of New York, D.P.C., is pleased to announce it was named one of the 2018 Best Companies to Work for in New York State. The firm was ranked #17 in the large-sized company category, and was second overall among New York engineering firms that qualified for the program. The awards were distributed at the organization’s 11th annual public awards dinner, this year held at the Albany Marriott.

“We are honored to once again be named one of the best places to work in New York State,” said William Thomsen, PE, the president of Urban Engineers of New York, D.P.C. “It is important to us that year after year, it is our New York employees’ responses that put Urban on this list.”

The awards program is a partnership between the New York State Society for Human Resource Management, the Business Council of New York, Best Companies Group and Journal Multimedia Corporation. Created in 2007, this annual program evaluates and ranks the best places of employment in the State based on employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as workplace practices and policies. It is unique because employees’ survey responses count for 75% of the ranking formula.

Urban strives to provide excellent working opportunities, exceptional benefits, and the appropriate setting for employees to be successful in all of their undertakings. The firm’s attention to both professional and personal life allows its staff the time to focus on those activities that are most important to them, such as having the opportunity to work on highly visible and rewarding projects.
