Urban Engineers’ (Urban) direct mail campaign won second place honors in the Society of Marketing Professional Services’ 36th Annual Marketing and Communications Awards (MCA). This was Urban’s first time entering the nation-wide MCA competition.
The intent of Urban’s direct mail campaign was to announce the addition of nationally-renowned Transit Planner Margarita Gagliardi to the firm’s Transit and Passenger Rail Department. The campaign utilized an innovative multi-phased approach, and a variety of digital media to achieve its goals. In the first phase of the campaign, an email linked recipients to a video of Gagliardi on the firm’s Transit and Passenger Rail Planning Services webpage. A second, follow-up email linked recipients to Gagliardi’s bio on Urban’s website. In-house expertise researched, planned, and implemented the campaign by using a combination of video, photography, graphic design, email, social media, website, and web analytic research.
