Urban Announces New Vice Presidents

Edward M. D’Alba, PE, President of Urban, has announced the promotion of three members of the firm to vice president: James A. Bilella, PE; Scott J. Diehl, PE, PTOE, AICP; and David A. Steele, PE, LEED® AP.

Jim Bilella, PE

 As vice president, Bilella will continue to lead the firm’s Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Fire Protection Practice (Marvin Waxman Consulting, a division of Urban).

 

Bilella, with 18 years of diverse professional experience in engineering design and construction, is an expert in lighting and electrical systems. Bilella earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. He is a member of numerous professional societies and currently serves as a councilman for Berlin Borough, New Jersey. Bilella is based in Urban’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.

Scott Diehl

 As vice president, Diehl will continue to serve as the firm’s chief traffic engineer and be responsible for managing Urban’s traffic efforts across the company.

 

Diehl has 18 years of experience in transportation and traffic engineering projects through the Mid-Atlantic region. He is a registered professional engineer and professional traffic operations engineer. Diehl earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Diehl is based in the firm’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey office.

David Steele

David Steele

 As vice president, Steele will continue to be responsible for Urban’s Structural Practice where he directs the firm’s structural engineering for facilities and building systems.

 

A professional engineer registered in seven states, Steele has more than 23 years of structural engineering experience.

Steele earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware. He is also a member of a number of professional societies and serves on national committees for the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Council of American Structural Engineers. Steele joined the firm in 2005.
