 Urban Engineers’Philadelphia headquarters welcomes Greg May, EIT, LEED® AP BD+ C, who has relocated from the firm’s Hartford,CT office. May will be joining Urban’s Transit and Passenger Rail Department as Manager, Rail and Transit Facility Construction. His new responsibilities include pursuing construction management assignments for public transportation and rail facilities while providing technical and administrative support to existing public transportation and rail construction management projects.

 

May is experienced in all phases of construction on a wide variety of projects, including highway, rail, and air transportation facilities and industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential building projects. He has served as Construction Manager, Owner’s Representative, Clerk of the Works, and Inspector on various facility and transportation projects in Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. He is currently the Senior MEP Inspector for the construction of a 300,000-SF component change out shop to serve Metro North Railroad’s new fleet of M8 rail cars and the Connecticut Department of Transportation Office of Rails.

 

May earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. He is active with several professional communities, including the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, Connecticut Green Building Council, and the Project Management Institute, Southern New England Chapter.
