The annual Transportation, Building & Construction Awards Luncheon in Philadelphia honors the leaders and projects from both public and private sectors of transportation, building and construction industries. In the event’s 25 year history, more than $6 million has been raised for the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of every mom and baby. This year’s event saw more than 1,100 industry professionals gather to network and raise funds for the organization.
The 2018 leadership and humanity honorees were Jeffrey D. Knueppel of SEPTA and Esteban Vera, Jr. of Laborers’ Local 57 Union, respectively. Recognized projects included the Ben Franklin Bridge PATCO Track Rehabilitation, Rebuild Philadelphia, and Center City District’s Rail Park, which was given the Sustainability Project of the Year Award. Urban has been involved with the project since its inception and provided many services, including environmental, civil, and construction management.
