For the fifth consecutive year, the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association (GVFTMA) has named Urban Engineers (Urban) as a Platinum Level winner for its “continued efforts to reduce congestion and improve air quality.”
Adam Shelly, LEED® AP, Sustainability Project Manager and Green Committee Chair, who submitted the award on Urban’s behalf, stated, “It is a great honor for Urban to receive a platinum rating (the highest award) from the GVF Sustainable Awards Program. We are committed to achieving the highest levels of sustainability with not only our projects, but also our day-to-day operations.”
Urban achieved the platinum level in the sustainable awards competition by scoring in the following categories:
– Displaying commuter information and/or providing transit schedules at
the worksite
– Company Green Plan
– Bike Racks
– Placing alternative commute information in new hire packets
– Recycling
– Alternative Fuel Vehicles
– Onsite Amenities
– Site-specific innovative service/program to improve employee commutation
– Pretax payroll deductions for commuting
– Office accessible to public transit
