Once again Urban Engineers (Urban) ranks among Engineering News Record’s Top Design Firms. The firm’s 2013 ranking, which is based on 2012’s total revenue, has improved 11 spots since last year and indicates that Urban continues to demonstrate stability despite global economic difficulties.

As noted in ENR, “The signs of the recession’s end can be seen in ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms list. The Top 500, taken as a group, had overall design revenue of $90.24 billion in 2012, up 6.1%, from $85.06 billion in 2011. This marks the second year the Top 500 experienced revenue growth since the recession began.”

“Urban is thrilled to be ranked among the top design firms in America,” said CEO and President Edward M. D’Alba, PE.  “While revenues are improving for the first time in several years, the postponement of projects of significance needs to be addressed. A long-term transportation bill with adequate funding for all modes would go a long way in putting America back on its feet and people back to work on projects that will provide economic benefit for decades to come.”
