Roy E. Denmark, Jr., has joined Urban as the Division Director for the firm’s Ports, Harbors, & Waterfront Division.

 

Denmark brings more than 37 years experience to this role, following a distinguished career with the US Army Corps of Engineers – Philadelphia District, where he held such roles as Deputy District Engineer, Chief, Operations Division, and Chief, Regulatory Branch. He also served in numerous positions, including Deputy Director of Environmental Programs at EPA – Region III.

 

Denmark is a member of the Mariners Advisory Committee for the Delaware River and Bay, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of American Military Engineers and the Seamen’s Church Institute of Philadelphia and South Jersey.

 

During his career, Denmark has been awarded a number of medals. Among these medals are: the US Army Corps of Engineers Bronze deFleury Medal in 2010; Society of American Military Engineers, North Atlantic Region, Regional Vice President’s Medal in 2007; Department of the Army Commanders Award for Civilian Service in 2005; US Environmental Protection Agency, Region III, Bronze Medal for Commendable Services in 1992; and US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, Outstanding Achievement Award in 1988.

 

Denmark earned his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree in Biology fromRutgers University.
