Angelo Waters on Panel of Experts for Philadelphia Chamber’s “Region on the Rise”

Urban Engineers’ (Urban) Environmental Practice Leader, Angelo Waters, PE, LEED®AP, was invited to be a panelist for an upcoming Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce event, “Region on the Rise: Reuse and Refit for a Green Economy.”

 

The annual event, presented in partnership with the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA), focuses on how the construction industry and developers are using innovative techniques to restore the region’s industrial assets and improve energy efficiency. The panel discussion will be about the “ever growing need to retrofit existing properties in the Greater Philadelphia region for energy efficiency purposes.” Additional topics will include the reuse and renewal of our region’s industrial assets.

 

Waters, who was selected for his environmental and stormwater expertise, will serve on the panel which includes Laurie Actman, Deputy Director for Management and Administration, Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster for Energy Efficient Buildings; Katherine Gajewski, Director of Sustainability, City of Philadelphia; Jim Lutz, Senior Vice President of Development, Liberty Property Trust; and Sarah Thorp, Director of Planning, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation. The panel moderator will be Jeff Bartos, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Group, Inc.

 

The event will be at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, with an 8:00 AM registration and 9:00 to 10:30 AM program.
