West Philadelphia born and raised, Kevin Brown Jr. spent most of his days...not thinking about his education. In fact, it was not until a high school counselor forced him to start applying to universities that he gave it a second thought. Eight years and a degree in civil engineering later, Kevin is the first member of his family to graduate from college. He has also earned his Professional Engineer license and his master's in civil engineering. Kevin has worked on several high-profile projects, including the I-95/PA Turnpike Interchange, where he was the assistant resident engineer overseeing the structural aspects of the project.
Kevin credits this success to having mentors every step of the way. And that is why he spares his weeknights volunteering as a mentor to high school-age participants of the ACE Mentor program. Once a member himself, Kevin understands the importance of giving back and never forgetting where he came from.
