Kemley Whiteside
Construction Management Services
MBA, Project Management, Ashford University, BS, Information Technology, University of Phoenix Online Program, AA, Associates of Arts in Business

Spend just a few minutes with Kemley Lahrmer-Whiteside and her personality and positive attitude will have you smiling and feeling better about your day. As a survivor of a life-threatening illness, Kemley is determined to look at the brighter side of life and feels that being able to share it with other people, especially her family and children, is the greatest blessing. "One day you can be on top and the next day you can be at the bottom," she said. "No one is exempt; each day is not promised."

Kemley is a member of Urban's team providing construction management and inspection oversight on the replacement of the Walt Whitman Bridge's deteriorating 55-year-old original deck. Owned and operated by the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), this single-level suspension bridge is one of the larger bridges on the east coast of the United States, spanning almost 12,000 feet over the Delaware River from Philadelphia to Gloucester City, NJ. Kemley envisions the project becoming the highlight of a stronger relationship with the DRPA. As Office Engineer, she is the Urban's liaison to the contractor and DRPA, coordinating requests for information and change orders, among other submissions. Her ability to communicate and work effectively with various personalities plays an important role in keeping this project on time and under budget. "Our team works hard, laughs together, and supports each other - we're like a family," she said.
