A native of Yonkers, New York, Mr. D’Alba earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and started his engineering career with the Turner Construction Company. In 1974, he left Turner to join Urban, undertake graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and pursue his passion for rowing. At Urban, he progressed
through the ranks to Project Manager, Branch Manager, Vice President, and in 1990, assumed the title of President and Chief Executive Officer. He retired in June 2016.
Mr. D’Alba works extensively with political and government leaders and holds leadership positions in professional, business, and civic groups with a common
goal of promoting controlled growth and meaningful investment in the built environment. He is called upon often to speak on issues of regional and national
concern and is proactive in helping to shape public policy to maintain and enhance both public and private investments. As a Professional Engineer, Mr. D’Alba is enthusiastic about the opportunity he has to influence the built environment and to create benefits for society now and for future generations.
