A Practice Leader, Daniel B. Humes, PE, leads the firm’s site and land development practice. Within this role, he collaborates with the other departments and offices on strategic pursuits as well as serves in the role of Design Manager.

Dan has over 10 years of multi-disciplinary experience in construction and civil engineering design, with emphasis on stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, utility coordination and relocations, and land development design and permitting for a variety of spaces. Some of the projects he has most recently worked on include Dilworth Park in Philadelphia, a major redevelopment project around Philadelphia’s city hall that transformed an uninviting space into one that the surrounding community now frequents, Paseo Verde, an award-winning, mixed-use, multi-level building complex, and the renovation and expansion of the world-renowned Franklin Institute’s Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion.

Dan doesn’t only design beautiful public spaces, he interacts with them. When not in the office, he is dedicated to local fundraising and frequently runs 5Ks and attends golf outings. He also finds time to be involved with MathCountsTM, and has been involved for the past 8 years, as a volunteer to help coordinate and emcee the program.

A Registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Dan earned his BA in natural sciences and physics from Lock Haven University and his BS in civil engineering from Penn State University. He is a member of NSPE, ASCE, SAME, and the Engineers Club.
