Urban Engineers was ranked as one of the Healthiest Employers in the Philadelphia Region in the Philadelphia Business Journal’s annual competition. Ranked in the 500-1499 employee category, Urban was one of 11 other companies to earn this title in the category and the only engineering firm.

Urban attributes its success to offering employees a number of health and wellness initiatives. The firm provides annual physicals, blood work and screenings, as well as frequent lunch and learns with presentations providing healthy lunch options and speakers discussing different health topics. The company also has a free gym, bike share, and offers discounts on health care premiums to employees who, after undergoing a physical, enter their numbers into a health risk assessment.

This is the fourth year that the Business Journal has partnered with the independent research firm, Healthiest Employers of Indianapolis, to run the competition.

This was Urban’s first time submitting for the recognition.
