Urban Hires Thomas LeBeau as Southwest Regional Manager

Urban is pleased to announce that Thomas LeBeau has been hired as Southwest Regional Manager. He will oversee the firm’s Fort Worth and Dallas office locations. He most recently served as deputy director of construction for the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation and previously was the vice president of rail development and capital programs with the Denton County Transportation Authority.

“We are excited to bring Tom on board, giving us access to his expertise and network in the southwest market,” said Urban Senior Vice President William T. Thomsen, PE. “His experience in working with a variety of agencies has garnered success in rail and transit projects. He has the vision to assist Urban in improving and expanding our services in the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth area and the southwest region of the country.”

For almost 20 years, Mr. LeBeau has dedicated himself to advancement as a multimodal transportation executive in the rail transportation and transit industry. He specializes in planning, engineering, construction, and operations program management of large scale rail transportation and transit projects across the country. His experience and training provides a quality combination of hands-on experience in the public and private sectors, as well as management of large-scale transportation/transit programs and contracts. This expertise allows him to quickly evaluate project requirements, assemble the proper teams, lead in a quality direction, while also providing timely interaction with all associated stakeholders.

Mr. LeBeau previously served on the board of directors for the Transit Coalition of North Texas, which focused on advancing local transit projects and educating the public about their benefits. He also served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for a Texas-based consulting firm where he provided project management oversight services for DART Orange and Blue Line Design-Build projects, DART Streetcar Design-Build project, Lone Star Rail District Program Management, and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (THE T) TEX Rail Program. During his prior experience, Mr. LeBeau collaborated with Urban Services as part of a joint venture to provide operations, procurement, design, and construction oversight on the A-train 21 Mile Commuter Rail Project where he served as the Vice President of Rail Development for the Denton County Transportation Authority.
