Urban Awarded Platinum Level of Sustainability

 For the second consecutive year, The Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association (GVFTMA) has named Urban Engineers, Inc. as a Platinum Level winner for “outstanding achievement in implementing programs that provide and promote commuting alternatives for their employees and its community, thus reducing congestion and improving air quality.”

 

Helene Brennan, PE, LEED® AP, Urban’s Green Committee Chair, who accepted the award on behalf of Urban, stated, “Urban continuesto make great strides toward reducing the environmental impact of its offices. It is a great honor for Urban to receive a platinum rating (the highest award) from the GVF Sustainable Awards Program.”

 

Urban achieved the platinum level in the sustainable awards competition by scoring in the following categories:

  • Displaying commuter information and/or providing transit schedules in the worksite
  • Company green plan
  • Bike racks
  • Placing alternative commute information in new hire packets
  • Recycling
  • Alternative fuel vehicles
  • Onsite amenities
  • Site-specific innovative service/program to improve employee commutation
  • Pretax payroll deductions for commuting
  • Office accessible to public transit
