Urban Engineers of New York, D.P.C. (Urban) was selected by the City of Poughkeepsie, New York to be the lead engineering design consultant for a bus transit services center to accommodate bus operations for the City of Poughkeepsie Transit, Dutchess County LOOP, and various private bus routes in the region.

Funded by an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant, the bus transit services center, combined with the nearby commuter rail services, will enhance the mobility of students, business representatives, professionals, and residents, and promote economic development in the City of Poughkeepsie and throughout Dutchess County.

As the lead consultant, Urban will focus its team’s efforts on delivering efficient bus route drop off and pick up, customer amenities, provision of transit information, ease of intermodal transfers, ease of vehicular, pedestrian, and taxi access, and safety and security of these connections, all in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Urban will be responsible for project management, quality assurance, contract administration and the delivery of the survey, drainage design, and grading design of the transit hub, as well as the estimate for construction and all other contract deliverables.
