A Vice President and Office Manager, John J. Pietrobono, III, PE, oversees the strategic initiatives, quality assurance and operations of the New Castle, DE office. In this role, he is responsible for the client driven professional service focus, financial vitality and growth of the office including performing project planning, technical engineering design, and management and supervision of projects and personnel. He also works directly with the firm’s Directors in all areas of the business lines and organizational management.
John has over 30 years of planning, engineering and construction consultation career experience which includes highway design, contract plan preparation, roadway, bridge, and building construction inspection and management. He also has had the unique experience of performing construction inspection on several projects for which he had design responsibilities, thereby gaining valuable insights into constructability, construction staging, and maintenance of traffic. In addition, his facilities experience includes project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, design, project supervision, oversight and management, architect and vendor selection, contract bidding, contractor selection and administration, coordination of sub-consultants and contractors, and construction close out for various architectural, civil, site, building, electrical, and HVAC projects.
When not in the office, John is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys various activities with his family and friends including hiking, trail biking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, competitive tennis, and when it comes to indoor activities, he is learning to play the guitar, enjoys woodworking and is a lifelong student of the game of chess.
A Registered Professional Engineer in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, John earned his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Delaware. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
