On a typical day, Vice President and Philadelphia Regional Manager Ms. Órla Pease, PE, PTOE, strategizes as part of the executive committee, converses with leaders in the Philadelphia A/E/C industry, manages the demands of multiple projects, interacts with various engineering disciplines and project stakeholders, and is a leader on the ITE Traffic Engineering Council, keeping members on the leading edge of the latest Traffic Engineering advancements – and that’s her slow day! Add to the mix her most important role as Mom to Kiera and Killian, and a normal person would cry “uncle.”
Fortunately, Ms. Pease handles the challenges better than a well-timed intersection during rush hour. Her impressive nature helped Urban secure the City of Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard Oversight Contract. The coordination involved with this major improvement program along Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia is extensive and will ultimately improve safety and mobility for pedestrians and motorists on this busy thoroughfare. For Órla, it’s not the architectural grandeur or the complexity of construction that inspires her work; it’s the happy commuter who gets to work on time or the pedestrians who safely cross the street that are her measures of success.
Outside of work, she makes time to be an avid runner and finds her peace and quiet along the beach in Cape May with her family and friends.
Ms. Pease received her master’s from University College in Cork, Ireland is a certified Professional Engineer in five states, CT, DE, MD, NJ and PA along with her national registration of Professional Traffic Operations Engineers. She is Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Section of ITE (MASITE) and is actively involved in Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) Philadelphia Chapter as well as the Forum of Executive Women in Philadelphia.
